Class V's Lindy Hop Workshop
Originating during the Harlem Renaissance, Lindy Hop is a foundational style of vernacular jazz dance. This week, Class V took the floor to learn Lindy Hop with guest artist Brandon Barker—a professionally trained dancer with the Joyce Theater’s annual SW!NG OUT showcase, international instructor, and performer with the MopTop Universal group.
By mastering these foundational steps, our Class V dancers gain a deeper appreciation for modern jazz technique while honoring the dance’s rich history and cultural roots.
