French 5 Students Put Formal Language Into Practice
French 5 students are learning to adapt their language to different registers, from formal to conversational to informal. To begin the year, students have been studying formal speech by listening to presidential addresses and professional dialogues before applying what they’ve learned in their own writing. For this assessment, each student drafts a presidential speech imagining they are addressing the nation in the aftermath of a crisis, putting their knowledge of formal French grammar and expressions into practice.
