Technology, Attention, and Connection

Class IX students recently took part in a formal tech dialogue, part of the Technology minor’s ongoing series of conversations with volunteer teachers about our relationship with technology. During this discussion, students considered how technology can affect their attention spans, academic performance, and relationships with others. Using a prompt about a time when a phone, app, or laptop distracted them and frustrated someone around them, students reflected on their own experiences and considered how digital distractions can shape the way they interact with others. Through these conversations, students are developing a greater awareness of their technology habits and their impact on both learning and everyday relationships.
