Class VII's Schoolhouse Tour in Chinese
Class VII Chinese language students recently took on the role of campus tour guides through a class project, where groups created videos designed to welcome new students to the Nightingale community entirely in Chinese.
The project challenged students to introduce different areas of the campus while incorporating key vocabulary, grammar structures, and descriptive language from their coursework. From the 图书馆 (library) and 体育馆 (gym), 剧院 (theater), and a variety of 教室 (classrooms), students highlighted the many spaces that make Nightingale such a vibrant place to learn and grow.
Each project opened with the greeting, “欢迎各位新同学来到Nightingale学校。今天我来带大家参观我们的学校,” inviting viewers on a virtual tour of the campus, and concluded with the heartfelt message, “希望你们和我一样喜欢我们的学校” — “We hope you will love our school as much as we do.”
The assignment encouraged students not only to strengthen their speaking and presentation skills, but also to reflect on what makes the Nightingale Schoolhouse special. Through thoughtful narration and storytelling, students created warm and welcoming introductions that celebrated both their language learning and their school community.
